  • Tent Sale
    9:00 – 2:00 p.m. Stadium System is pleased to offer brand name closeouts at unbelievable prices! Stop in at the tent sale and sign up to win a daily prize drawing.

  • St. Joseph Annual Festival
    9:00 a.m. Sausage & Chicken Grinders luncheon. Chicken BBQ dinner. Great raffle prizes, tag sales, vendors, popcorn, and children’s corner. Sponsored by St. Joseph Church.

  • Canaan Union Station Restoration Funding
    All day and evening. The CT Railroad Historical Association will be selling shirts, mugs, hats, etc.

  • Alternative Fuel & Vermont Casting
    10:00 – 6:00 p.m. Come in and discuss alternative, energy saving, renewable fuel options and meet our Vermont Casting Rep for all of your woodstove questions. Sponsored by J.L.A. Heat  Hearth & More .



  • Treasure Shop Super Sale
    Christ Church  Treasure Shop-our year round tag sale experience is brimming with newly donated items every week.  For Railroad Days , we've expanded our hours and our days. Come visit at 58 Main Street, behind the stone clocktower in Canaan , on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10a.m. until 4 p.m.

  • Wine Tasting and Food Pairing
    1:30 p.m.  Learn how to pair wine with the right food. Sample locally grown and bottled wines from The Land of Nod matched with hand made food samples. Sponsored by  Land of Nod Winery, 99 Lower Rd East Canaan, Ct 06024. More Info 860-824-5225. 

  • Silent Auction
    10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.  Douglas Library.  Final auction bidding ends at noon and winners will be announced.

  • Model Railroading Operative Display
    9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  Canaan Union Station.  Model trains will be operating and on display at the historic Canaan Union Station (currently being restored).  Sponsored by the Torrington Area Model Railroaders.

  • Craft Fair on the Green
    10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Craft fair located at the corner of Routes 7 & 44. Sponsored by Canaan Chamber of Commerce.

  • Q103 Live Broadcast
    4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Lawrence Field. Q103 will be broadcasting live.

  • McDonald’s Fireworks Car Cruise
    6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Display of classic, antique, muscle, street rods, and any collectible cars. A $5 donation includes parking, dash plaques and 25 trophies. There will be 60-70’s music. Sponsored by Olde Yankee Street Rods.

  • Boy Scout Glow Ring Sale
    6:00 p.m. – Dusk. Boy Scout Troop 22 will be selling glow rings at Lawrence Field.

  • Live Music
    6:30 – 10:30 p.m. Lawrence Field. Bring your blanket and/or lawn chair and enjoy the sounds of Donny Sawyer & Out of Bounds. Promoted by Q103 Sunday In The Country.

  • Poetry Is Music® #13 A Celebration of Life!!!
    (Click to download the poster) A free outdoor Family Event, hosted by The Collin's Diner,  A National Historic Landmark. Evolution Ink presents an Ameen-Storm Production Featuring: the multi-grammy nominated and multi-nammy award-winning Native American flutist Joseph FireCrow, the award-winning Steve Dunn Band, K La Rue Education Arts in Motion, the mesmerizing Belly Dancer Lydia, the enchanting Tahitian Hula Dancer Tiare, the award-winning Recording Artist LOOP 2.4.3 and the award-winning Poet, Ameen-Storm Abo-Hamzy. Sound Design by Brian Infantino's OceanSound. Set Design by Joann Moran's rePublic Art Food by Aida, with the support of The Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism.

  • Relay for Life of Berkshire Hills
    3:00 p.m. – Dusk   Luminaries can be purchased for $10.00 in memory of someone who has had cancer and placed on the Track the night of the Relay. It is our goal to have the entire Track bordered by Luminaries. Lawrence Field

  • Food Court at Lawrence Field
    - Canaan Fire Co. Ladies Aux. – Fried dough & Drinks.
    - NCES PTO – Snapple and snow cones.
    - Canaan Fire Company – Selling those popular “Where the Hell is Canaan” T-shirts
    - Northwest Detachment Marine Corps League Scholarship fund - selling  corn on cob, chili, chili dogs, and beverages.
    - Geraghty’s Café selling Hot dogs, hamburgers, grilled chicken sandwiches, beverages and more.

  • Fireworks
    At Dusk.  Thanks to your generous donations for the 2008 Canaan Railroad Days, the Canaan Chamber of Commerce, along with the Town of North Canaan, is able to present the most spectacular and best ever fireworks.
